Wow, I am so impressed by this interesting forum.
I should be thankful for Jason's efforts to provide this wonderful arena where we can practise our Enlgish skills and share our thoughts as well.
It's very considerate of you to try to give more opportunities to students through this extension of a class. Thanks again. First of all, I really enjoyed your class. One of the things I found them useful in your class is that you always try to make sure everyone in class follows your class
by asking questions at intervals. This seems a simple but easily forggoten job. but students could be isolated from teacher's lesson without this checking process, especially in a class directed by native speakers.so I appreciate this thoughtful gesture.
By the way, Allow me to introduce mysellf. My name is Grace which I picked up from the hymn " Amazing grace". And I heard this name happened to be the most preferred one among the Britian parents from the news lately. I majored in English literature in University. I am not currently working but preparing myself for getting into a graduate school to get a "TESOL" certificate. I am blessed to have two lovely daughters who are 10 and 9 years old and keep me busy. Raising two daughters gives me a lot of rewards and they awake me to a world of innocence. These days I read my two daughters English story books which are so refreshing to me. Since I studied Enlgish, "Engish" has been a source of both joy and frustration to me. Sometimes, I felt stuck in a feeling "not moving forward", no matter how hard I tried to acheive the goal "fluency". I've found that hanging on to the goal makes me less confident. This year, I try to restore the joy of learning that I had a long time ago instead of being too goal-oriented.
I'm glad to meet all of you guys, hopefully all of you make this year filled with the precious moments.

Grace, I'm glad you are enjoying our class. I try to use a variety of classroom interaction techniques to ensure everyone is following along and getting opportunities to practice their English. Even the students who aren't speaking at a particular time are processing what they hear in anticipation of a question that could come their way at any moment.

What were some of your favorite works by English or American authors you covered in university?

Where are you planning on applying for your TESOL certificate? SMU TESOL is a wonderful program. I completed their certificate program last year and I learned a lot. I recommend it as a great place for you to pursue your TESOL certificate, gain a lot of practical knowledge, and boost your English fluency all at the same time. I wish you the best of luck in your decision.

To Jason,
Thank you for your reply post. Actually, I'm not that into literature and prefer logical column to unrealistic fiction. By the way, I've been always interested in writing in English. Do you teach writing in Catholic University? If not, I'm wondering if you can recommend any writing class. I like writing but I need someone to correct my errors in my writings. If you happen to know about this, Please let me know, I really appreciate it.

Grace, how are you doing these days? Are you takig time off from class to practice your English elsewhere? Hope all's going well for you these days. By the way, did you ever find a good writing class to enroll in? If so, what are you learning these days?
